Test cases

Hi,

Recently I need to install the newest version of GSI on a new machine, and I am wondering whether there are cases, with data, for me to test the fidelities of the codes on the new machine?

Thanks,

Jia

Hi Jia,

The test cases from our online tutorial come with all the data needed to run and with some minimal modification to the run scripts should still work with the latest comGSI github code, if that's what you're referring to. If you're wanting to use more recent cases you would need to obtain data from one of the archives and modify the run scripts further to build up the case.

Hi, Will,

For the case3 in the tutorial, I am wondering whether the analysis increment plot is correct or not? (result is on https://dtcenter.org/community-gsiv3-7-online-tutorial/arw-practice-cases/case-3-3dvar-conventional-data-prepbufr/results)

In the "stdout", the maximum U/V increment is under 10 m/s, but in the plot (https://dtcenter.org/sites/default/files/community-code/gsi/tutorial/online-tutorial/release3.7/case03-conv/GSI_Analysis_increment_20.pdf), clearly there are V increments larger than 25 m/s.

My increment plot is different from what on the webpage.

Jia

Hi Jia,

Apologies, that plot was not replaced from an older version of the tutorial and is not correct for case 3. You can rely on the stdout/fort files to check your outputs.
